Ingredients
- 5 dl milk
- 2 eggs
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp vanilla sugar
- 1 vanilla pod/bean
- 1 Tbsp corn starch
- 5 dl cream
Instruction
- open the vanilla bean lengthwise with the knife, srcab the paste out
- take a pot give in the milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla sugar, starch and the vanilla paste
- stir everything nicely together and put the pot on the cocking stove on medium heat
- keep on stirring nonstop till, the mixture is cooking and starts to bind (takes about 10-15 minutes)
- take the pot from the heat and keep stirring another two minutes.
- strain the mixture and give it in a bowl
- cover it with a plastic wrap. Very important the wrap has to touch the mixture, no air between, otherwise your vanilla cream gets an ugly skin
- put the bowl in the fridge for at least two hours
- after two hours: stir the vanilla custard once more
- whip the cream optional with some extra sugar and stir two third of it, into the vanilla custard, keep the rest of it for decoration
